MORGAN & ANDREW'S WEDDING: LOST DUTCHMAN STATE PARK
One of the reasons I love being a part of weddings so much is soaking in all the manic energy of the day. Moms are crying, dads are frazzled, siblings are all over the place, but overall, there's crazy excitement in the air and it's so fun for me to sit back and watch it all unfold.
Because Morgan and Andrew were doing long distance through their engagement and traveling to Arizona for their wedding, the first time I got to meet either of them in person was the day of their reception as we headed out to Lost Dutchman State Park to shoot their formals with their wedding party. This can be kind of nerve-wracking since you never know how everything will click; these fears were, of course, completely unfounded and watching how easily they loved each other in front of me was inspiring. The whole drive to the park had been stressful and hectic for the bride, but the moment Andrew turned around and saw her for the first time, Morgan melted right into him and it was like they were the only people on Earth. There were moments in the middle of all the picture chaos that I would find them just looking at each other with that dreamy, love struck look in their eyes and I'm so happy I got to be a part of it.
Right as we finished all the group shots, storm clouds blew in and it started gusting and raining like crazy! I had been more concerned about the sun being too bright and and harsh, we hadn't even prepared for the chance of a huge rain storm. Andrew immediately took off his jacket and put it around his bride and it was like they were alone in the world. We continued shooting as the rain fell and it was pure magic. I'm so grateful for couples that are willing to just roll with it and embrace whatever is coming! it ended up being so much more beautiful and authentic to capture their love as we ran around in the rain.
THE SWEETEST BACKYARD RECEPTION
GILBERT ARIZONA TEMPLE
We got up bright and early the morning of their sealing and I got to grab a few shots of Morgan and her bridesmaids. They presented her with a sweet memory book of all their times together and there were so many feels.
